LAKE COUNTY— With a significant rainstorm ongoing, and further showers and winds expected through much of the next week, some Lake County residents may be looking to escape the elements.  County Library Branch locations and Peer Support Centers operated by Lake County Behavioral Health Services can provide indoor respite during times of extreme weather.

While none of these are formal shelter locations, and there are no overnight services, for example, each of these facilities are currently expected to be open during their customary hours (described below).  Should storm-related power outages occur, availability may be affected.  For more information, call the phone numbers associated with each listing, or visit the following webpages:

Peer Support Centers

Lake County Behavioral Health Services also reminds their peer support centers are open as a refuge from the wind and rain. Each provides a climate-controlled place to sit and rest. Water and light snacks are offered to guests, and restrooms are available.  Referrals to social services can also be made.  All are welcome.  Below is a list of Peer Support Centers, with their customary hours and location information:
