
ALBANY — Clear Lake High School’s Liam Davis won by 14-2 major decision in the 160-pound championship match Saturday as the Cardinals placed sixth out of 32 teams at the Albany Invitational wrestling tournament.
Davis won all four of his matches.
Tony Gersalia added a third-place medal at 182 pounds, going 3-1, and Ayden Williamson went 3-2 to finish fourth at 138 pounds.
Other top Clear Lake finishers were Silas Reese, who came in fifth at 106 pounds with a 3-2 record, and Carson Wikstrom, who was sixth at 182 pounds.
Nolan Ewing went 2-2 at 126 pounds.
Girls
While the Clear Lake boys were competing in in Albany, Clear Lake’s girls traveled to the Corning Invitational. Addyson Munoz was the team’s top finisher, taking second at 137 pounds.
Nicole Buechler had the next-best finish, coming in fourth at 235 pounds. Anyssa Perez (106) and Sophia Percaccio (111) came in sixth.
Schedule
Clear Lake returns to action Wednesday in Middletown during a Coastal Mountain Conference tri-meet that also includes St. Helena. On Saturday, the boys compete in the Puma Invitational at Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa while the girls head to Loomis for the Del Oro Invitational.
