LOWER LAKE — Aly Aguirre’s offense, 13 points worth, and her stellar defense helped the Konocti Middle School A girls basketball team remain undefeated on the season Friday night as the Rams knocked off Upper Lake Middle School 37-23 in league action at Lower Lake High School.
“She had a phenomenal game today,” Konocti head coach Ray Milano said.
Capable of playing guard and post, Aguirre did a little of both against Upper Lake. In addition to leading the team in scoring, she was assigned to guard Upper Lake’s best player and held her to two points, according to Milano.
Irianna Milano and Maddy Garner each had seven points for the Rams, now 7-0 in league and 9-0 overall. Lily Milano pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds to go along with four points.
Konocti plays at Upper Lake on Monday to close out its regular-season schedule. The league tournament opens Thursday and runs through Saturday, Jan. 28 at Terrace Middle School in Lakeport.
