RANCHO CORDOVA — Gerardo Rodriguez won his weight class as the CORE Wrestling Club participated in the SAWA Winter Championships last weekend in Rancho Cordova.
CORE also had second-place finishes from Tucker Heywood, Amari Carr, Alexsis Castellanos and James Newman. Thirds went to Karmello Lal, Sampson Wetmore, Richard Occhino and Harrison “Trey” Thurman. Wyatt Hooten and Tyrell Drake came in fourth.
CORE wrestlers return to action Saturday at the NorCal Elementary State Championships in Orland.
