RANCHO CORDOVA — Branson Whittle Jr. of the Gladiators Wrestling Club came in first while three of his teammates placed second Sunday during the SAWA Winter Championships in Rancho Cordova.

“With courage and determination a small group of Gladiators entered the Winter Championships in Rancho Cordova and faced off with some tough competition,” coach Brandon Whittle said. “By the end of the day those few kids did not go unnoticed.”

Second-place medals went to Maverick Paminto, Brantly Paminto and Logun Whittle. Finishing third were Nevaeh Barocio and Angel Barajas.

“These young Gladiators are working through emotional and physical battles while facing their opponents,” Whittle said. “As the weeks go by, the hard work and dedication that they show in practice is beginning to surface in competition.”

Fourth-place finishes went to Brayden Paminto, Hayden Janssen and Laylony Barocio.
