LAKEPORT — Trailing by 10 points with 3:30 left in the game, the Terrace Middle School B boys basketball team rallied for a 40-36 win over Fort Bragg Middle School on Wednesday night in Lakeport.
Gael Moreno’s 3-pointer with 7.4 seconds left put Terrace ahead to stay at 37-36. Moreno scored nine of his team-leading 12 points in the fourth quarter and also had three of his four steals in the final period. JD Smart added a 3-pointer at the buzzer and finished with 10 points.
“We outscored them 18-9 in the fourth quarter after only scoring three points in the third,” Terrace coach Jeremy Hopkins said. “Smart kept us in the game with his defense and timely scoring until Moreno saved the day.”
Noah Cleaver added 11 points in the win.
