Thirty years ago the Upper Lake Cougars defeated Head-Royce in the North Coast Section Division 5 championship game. Thirty years later they’re making another deep playoff run, which continues Wednesday night with a first-round home game against Portola in the NorCal Division 5 playoffs. Tip-off is 6 p.m. at the Upper Lake High School gym. Among the 1993 team members were (from left) Jen Bryant, Lalie Lopez, Naomi Blair, Carrie Christensen and Annie Pivniska.
