WINDSOR — Cooper Johnson’s round of 87 led the Middletown High School golf team in its season debut Wednesday afternoon against Windsor at the par-72 Windsor Golf Club. Windsor defeated Middletown 443-472.

Middletown, a perennial contender for the Coastal Mountain Conference title, also received rounds of 90 from Bodhi Moore, 92 from Blake Costlow, 93 from Dom Williams and 110 from Jackson Conley.

The Mustangs return nearly their entire starting lineup from last season with the exception of Luke Hoogendoorn, who graduated.

Upcoming non-conference matches for the Mustangs, all of them on the road, are March 8 against Healdsburg, March 9 against Analy and March 13 against Windsor. Middletown opens its CMC South schedule March 16.
