LAKE COUNTY — Five members of the Kelseyville High School varsity boys soccer team have been named to the All-North Central League I winter squad as recently selected by a vote of the league’s coaches.

Kelseyville was competing in winter soccer for the first time in school history while the remainder of Lake County’s boys teams still play soccer during the fall sports season.

Under the direction of first-year coach KC White, the Knights went 1-4-1 in the North Central League I and 6-6-1 overall, reaching the North Coast Section playoffs as an at-large team.

Pulling down first-team honors for Kelseyville were seniors Jose Angel Garcia and Aiden Rivas. Named to the All-League team as honorable mentions were senior Alex Cabrera and sophomores Luis Valdovinos and Otoniel Rivas-Soto.

Jerzain Solorio of Roseland University Prep, a senior, was named most valuable player as RUP went 5-0-2 in league play. A total of eight RUP players received either first-team recognition or honorable mentions.

Runner-up St. Helena had a total of seven players honors followed by Kelseyville with five and Cloverdale with three.
