KELSEYVILLE — Kelseyville High School’s first season of winter girls soccer participation produced three All-Leaguers as the All-North Central League I squad was recently announced following a vote of the league’s coaches.
Sherlyn Macias, a senior team captain, was the lone Knight to earn first-team honors while two other senior team captains, Kiara Rivas and Guadalupe Fernandez, received honorable mentions.
Kelseyville switched from fall to winter soccer this season, the only Lake County school to do so. Under the direction of first-year coach Patrick Mick, the Knights went 2-5-1 in North Central League I play and 3-9-1 overall.
Private school powerhouse Sonoma Academy of Santa Rosa won the NCL I championship with a 8-0 mark followed by St. Helena at 5-3.
Sonoma Academy players Julia Bilal, a junior, and Kate Bruntlett, a sophomore, shared MVP honors. The Coyotes also had four other first-team selections and three honorable mentions. St. Helena had the next-most All-Leaguers with three first-team selections and two honorable mentions. Roseland University Prep (Santa Rosa) had four players honored followed by Kelseyville and Cloverdale with three apiece.
