LAKE COUNTY — Montana Wells, Tiahna Tubbs and Mia Hoogendoorn are different years in school and play for different teams, but they share one thing in common after being named to the All-North Central League I first team in girls basketball.
The All-League team, as recently selected by a vote of the league’s coaches, includes a total of seven Lake County players spread out between the first team, second team and honorable mentions.

Fort Bragg (15-1) won its final 15 games to secure the outright league championship in 2023 and the Timberwolves had more players honored (four) than any of the league’s other eight teams. Maddie Triplett, a senior, was named most valuable player and teammates Italia Bowles (first team), a sophomore, Lemara Hendricks (second team), a sophomore, and Sonja Ivankay (honorable mention), a senior, also were honored.
Clear Lake, Middletown, Cloverdale and Lower Lake each had two players selected while Kelseyville, St. Helena, Roseland University Prep and Willits all had one.
Clear Lake/M’town
Clear Lake and Middletown tied for second place in the league standings at 13-3. The Cardinals’ All-League picks, both seniors, are first-teamer Wells and second-teamer Abby Mertle.
Middletown is represented by first-team selection Hoogendoorn, only a sophomore, and second-team pick Skylar Williams, a senior.
Cloverdale
Cloverdale, fourth in the league standings at 11-5, also had one first-team selection, junior Tylie Hatcher, and one second-teamer, senior Trinity Vlasak.
Lower Lake/Kelseyville
Tubbs, a junior shooting guard for Lower Lake and one of the league’s top scorers, pulled down first-team honors. She is joined on the All-League team by honorable mention Rebecca Theodorou, a junior.
Lower Lake tied Willits for fifth place in the league standings at 5-11.
Kelseyville’s lone All-Leaguer is senior Mikayla Meyer, a senior.
The Knights were last in the league standings at 1-15.
Other teams
Willits’ Hazel Cook landed on the second team while honorable mentions went to Roseland University Prep junior Brianda Banuelos and St. Helena senior Sofia Cupp.
