
LAKE COUNTY — The sign-up deadline for the 35th annual Clear Lake Team Tournament sponsored by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce is 4:30 p.m. Friday.
One of Clear Lake’s most popular bass tournaments takes place Saturday and Sunday and is based out of Library Park in Lakeport. Blast-off each day is at first safe light and the weigh-ins begin 3:30 p.m. As of Wednesday morning 70 teams were signed up.
The sign-up fee is $200 per team. Teams can sign up in person at the Lake County Chamber of Commerce office, 875 Lakeport Blvd., in Lakeport or online at https://www.lakecochamber.com/clear-lake-team-bass-tournament/ or by calling (707) 263-5092. Absolutely no sign-ups will be allowed after 4:30 p.m. Friday.
During its heyday in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Clear Lake Team Tournament drew as many as 225 teams. The tournament has always paid back 100 percent of entry fees.
Last year’s winners were Charlie Fales Jr and Zach Ploeger with 49.13 pounds for 10 fish. They collected a first-place paycheck of $4,003.68. The big fish taken during the tournament was 8.74 pounds. The big bag was 33.17 pounds.
Big-fish winners each day receive $1,000.
The 2022 tournament drew 113 teams.
