Club members bring home seven firsts in folkstyle, freestyle divisions

WILLITS — CORE Wrestling Club members collected seven firsts between the folkstyle and freestyle divisions last weekend at the Willits Tournament.

In the folkstyle division, firsts went to Wyatt Hooten, Jesse Saldana, Tucker Heywood, Gerardo Rodriguez and Ryan Ramirez. Placing second were Leo Benavidez, Amari Carr, Harrison Thurman and Jordan Lott. Thirds went to Sampson Wetmore and coach Pedro Garrido. KJ Jones came in fourth.

In the freestyle division, Rodrigurez and Thurman placed first, Garrido came in second and Carr finished third.

CORE finished second as a team behind champion Willits.

CORE members return to action Saturday in Healdsburg.
