KELSEYVILLE — Gemma Lewis homered twice and drove in five runs as the Mountain Vista Middle School softball team beat Upper Lake 7-0 in softball action Monday afternoon in Kelseyville.

Lewis, the Mountain Vista catcher, also was on the receiving end of the 12 strikeouts thrown by winning pitcher Vanessa Reyes, who struck out 12.

In other middle school action Monday:

Konocti 20, Lucerne 5

At Lucerne, Heidi Ortega went 2-for-3 with a RBI and scored twice as Konocti Middle School improved to 4-1 on the season with a win over Lucerne.

Brooklyn Tubbs worked 2 2/3 innings for the win, striking out five.

Irianna Milano went 1-for-1 with two walks and scored three times. Leanna Orega walked three times and scored three runs while Kierstyn Lamber tand Edn Sparks added a hit apiece. Aniya Myer went 1-for-2 with a RBI and scored twice.

Konocti plays Wednesday at Upper Lake, weather and field conditions permitting.
