MIDDLETOWN — Coming off a rough outing against Mountain Vista, Konocti’s Aly Aguirre struck out eight and walked only one Thursday afternoon as the Rams beat Middletown 11-1 in middle school softball action at Middletown.

The game was called after four innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Aguirre, who struggled with her control Monday in a 14-6 loss to Mountain Vista, also went 2-for-2 with a standup triple as Konocti improved to 5-3 on the season.

“Overall it was a good game,” Konocti head coach Luis Perez said. “We cleaned things up on defense and our bats showed up. The pitching was there, too.”

Konocti picked up hits from throughout its lineup. Heidi Ortega went 2-for-2 with a double, Kierstyn Lamber went 2-for-2 with a RBI, Grace Reyes went 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI, Maddy Garner went 1-for-1 with three RBIs, and Aniya Myer went 1-for-2 with a RBI.

The Rams host Eagle Peak next Thursday at East Lake Elementary School in Clearlake Oaks. First pitch is 4:30 p.m.
