WINDSOR — Fort Bragg clinched the Coastal Mountain Conference North golf title with a 385-408 win over Willits on Tuesday afternoon at the par-72 Windsor Golf Club.
Clear Lake came in third with 421 strokes while Mendocino’s team was incomplete (fewer than four golfers).
The Timberwolves improved to 9-0 in the North standings with one match remaining, that next Tuesday at Buckingham Golf and Country Club. Fort Bragg automatically advances to the first round of the North Coast Section playoffs early next month as the North champion. The Timberwolves will be joined at the sectional meet by at-large golfers Ethan Winter, Zahyr Lopez, Luka Ritchley and Tanner Dudley of Willits and Jack Wilson of Mendocino.
Clear Lake’s young golf squad continues to show plenty of improvement, according to head coach Ted Mattila.
“It was pretty good today, everybody improved,” Mattila said.
The Cardinals were led by Sofia Arredondo with 99. Francis Rivera finished with 106, Brooke Hinchcliff had 107, and Jadan Martinez carded a 109.
The low round of the day belonged to Fort Bragg’s Brandon Shellman with a 92. Tied for second low round were Willits’ Winter and Fort Bragg’s Jonah Leland with 94.
