KELSEYVILLE — Mountain Vista Middle School’s Vanessa Reyes struck out 17 and allowed only 10 hits while pitching complete games on both ends of a doubleheader sweep against Terrace in a middle school softball doubleheader Monday at Kelseyville.
Reyes and her battery mate, catcher Gemma Lewis, also combined to go 9-for-12 at the plate as the Lancers won the first game 12-4 and the second game 14-6.
“Our bats continue to get better,” Mountain Vista head coach Huey Lewis said.
Meghan Renfro added a triplea nd walked three times during the sweep of the Vikings.
“All my girls are getting it done at the plate and on defense despite losing two starters to injuries,” Lewis said. “Everyone is stepping up.”
Mountain Vista returns to action Thursday in Lucerne at 4 p.m. The Lancers remain on the road Monday to play Upper Lake before returning home April 27 to take on Konocti.
