MIDDLETOWN — Amanda Hart became the second Middletown High School track and field athlete to break a school record this year as the junior shattered the Mustangs’ girls shotput mark during a Coastal Mountain Conference home meet Wednesday against Lower Lake, Cloverdale and Anderson Valley.

Hart posted a winning throw of 35 feet, 1 inch to easily beat the old Middletown record of 34 feet, ¾ inches set by Taelor Roderick in 2019. Earlier this season Nadav Dicovski broke the school’s varsity boys triple jump record.

“Amanda has been working hard all season and put in some training on her own in the offseason to improve, so I’m happy she’s seeing the results of all her time and effort,” Middletown head coach Wyatt Hall said.

Girls

Hart won both the shotput and the discus (90-1/2). Middletown’s Citlalli Ramirez was third in the shotput with a personal-best toss of 21-4.
