Upper Lake High School senior Maddy Young shares a high-five with head coach Heather Wurm after hitting a triple in the Cougars’ 5-4 eight-inning win over Credo on Friday in Upper Lake. It was Upper Lake’s first hit of the day. Young has played five sports for the Cougars during the 2022-23 season — soccer, basketball, wrestling, track and softball. Upper Lake currently leads the North Central League II race with a little more than a week remaining in the regular season.
