KELSEYVILLE — A bass boat leaking gasoline and oil into Clear Lake led to the temporary closure of the boat ramp Monday morning at Lakeside County Park near Kelseyville.

The spill occurred sometime Sunday morning near the ramp as the boat owner was trailering his boat. He immediately notified a ramp monitor who phoned the Lake County Sheriff’s Boat Patrol. An oil slick and fuel could be seen floating on the surface and was still visible Monday morning as cleanup crews addressed the situation. An estimated 35 gallons of gasoline and oil leaked into the lake.

While Lakeside Park remains open for all other recreational activities Monday, the boat ramp remains closed and officials said they did not know when it would re-open.
