LAKEPORT — Sammy Nuno, Thomas Esberg, Dannie Carpenter and Ron Portlock won the main events in their respective divisions Saturday night at the Lakeport Speedway.

Modifieds

Nuno took the checkered flag in the modified main event ahead of of Mike Sullivan, Richard Knight, Wade Coleman, Mike Snider, Sal Martinez, Anthony Esberg and Brian Rodello.

Snider was the fastest qualifier at 13.015 seconds followed by Knight at 13.056 and Sullivan at 13.064. Snider also won the trophy dash.

Heat race winners were Nuno and Sullivan.

Bombers

Esberg won the bomber feature ahead of Jim Kollenborn and fast qualifier Mikey Collins (14.009). Esberg also won the trophy dash while Collins captured the only heat race held.

Legends

Carpenter posted his first racing win ever, taking the Wicked Sounds & Wicked Automotive main event in front of Dave Allen, Gary Judd and Tyler Manning. Carpenter’s big night also included being fast qualifier at 14.036 seconds, well ahead of Manning at 14.172.

Manning picked up his first win ever in the trophy dash, beating out Allen, Carpenter and Paul Pruett.

Judd won the only heat race held.

Mini-modifieds

Portlock’s win in the West Coast mini-modifieds main event came in front of David Aceves and fast qualifier Doug Rivera (13.566).

Rivera won the trophy dash while Portlock topped the field in the heat race.

Schedule

Racing returns to Lakeport on July 1 for the Hillside Powersports and Marine Patriotic Night at the Races featuring the modifieds, Legends, bombers, West Coast mini-modifieds and a fireworks show to follow.

Grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m. General admission is $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and military members, and $12 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and younger get in free.
