A public memorial service for former Clear Lake High School varsity baseball coach Ed Pepper takes place Saturday, July 1 beginning at 10 a.m. at Don Owens Stadium on the Clear Lake High School campus in Lakeport. Pepper died March 16 as the Cardinals were participating in the Fort Bragg Tournament on the Mendocino County coast. The Cardinals played the remainder of the season in Pepper’s honor and teams from throughout the county and even outside the county also honored his memory.
