The workup to the 2023-24 high school sports season, which doesn’t officially begin until early August, is unofficially under way with open gym and open field practices taking place throughout Lake County. Prospective members of the 2023 Clear Lake High School junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams met Monday afternoon for a two-hour workout that was all about competition as teams split up into two teams to participate in a variety of events, including pushups, jump rope, bear crawls, sprinting and the like.
