Lake County’s top high school football team last season, the Clear Lake Cardinals (12-2), hopes to make another strong run again in 2023 with nearly all of its skill players returning. Prospective members of the junior varsity and varsity squads participated in an open field workout Monday afternoon. Players were put through their paces during a variety of drills. Lake County junior varsity and varsity teams take part in the summer passing league July 10 (at Lower Lake), July 17 (at Kelseyville) and July 24 (at Upper Lake) beginning at 6 p.m. each night.
