LAKE COUNTY— Laura McAndrews Sammel announces that she will run for Lake County Supervisor, District 4.
“As CEO of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and an active member in professional and community organizations, I see many exciting, meaningful opportunities to serve the residents and businesses located in District 4. I look forward to using my specialized education and diverse expertise in the private industry to strengthen the Board of Supervisors’ work to support and advance our communities.”
Sammel’s focus will be the people, prosperity, and community of Lake County.
People: Sammel will work to improve health services to the mentally ill – especially those struggling with addiction and homelessness. She will also work to find creative solutions to those requiring childcare and elder services. Sammel’s extensive experience as a human resources professional will support the County’s internal hiring and retention efforts.
Prosperity: Business advocacy is a primary objective for Sammel, including streamlining new business development projects, particularly those creating thriving-wage jobs, and the expansion of access to broadband. Another of Sammel’s priorities is stewardship of the county’s budget – both in maximizing available funding and increased transparency in budgetary decision making.
Community: Sammel believes disaster recovery and response is vital to the health of Lake County. She is committed to the development, and more importantly, implementation of the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan. She also supports the arts community that makes Lake County vibrant and unique.
