The 44th edition of the biennial Ryder Cup Matches played out last Sunday in Rome as the 12 man European team routed the American team by a definitive margin of 16 ½ points to 11 ½ points. Team Europe has been able to win the Cup on its home soil every time since 1997 and such was the case once again as they got out to an early lead on Friday morning and never looked back during five sessions of great golf and obvious intensity. Very obvious intensity.
