LAKE COUNTY— Don’t look now but the High School football season is entering its stretch run this Friday. North Central League I standings following Friday’s results look like this: Clear Lake 4-0, Willits 4-1, Middletown 3-1, Kelseyville 3-1, St. Helena 2-2, Fort Bragg 1-3, Cloverdale 1-4, Lower Lake and Upper Lake both at 1-4.
The Clear Lake varsity football Cardinals remained undefeated in League play with a 59-8 win over the host Lower Lake Trojans, while the Kelseyville Knights won just as convincingly 56-0 over host Lower Lake. The Trojans avoided the shutout loss to the Cardinals with Luke Campbell’s 11-yard run in the waning minutes of the lopsided contest.
Up next the unbeaten CLHS team plays St. Helena in a home league game, while the Trojans get a bye before traveling to Kelseyville on October 20. Fresh from their road win over St. Helena, the Middletown Mustangs travel to Cloverdale to take on the Eagles. Follow live scoring updates on Facebook. Varsity games kickoff at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise indicated by school sites.
