LAKE COUNTY— Fall in Lake County is always special as we welcome changing foliage and celebrate the many harvests of this bountiful season, but October is especially fun as it’s packed with fantastically frightful Halloween activities for all ages.

A local favorite and silver medal winner of last year’s Best of Lake and Mendocino awards is That Ranch located at 4405 Thomas Drive in Lakeport. According to their website, that-ranch.com, they offer a verity of fall activities for the whole family, from an intricate corn maze and pumpkin patch with over 100 varieties of pumpkins and gourds to rides for the kids, a giant pillow style inflatable jumper, apple cannons, and so much more.

This year That Ranch has teamed up with Haunted Lake County, a volunteer based local nonprofit that hosts haunted houses every year fundraising towards a different local nonprofit. According to their website hauntedlakecounty.com “Together we have helped raise thousands of dollars to support; Valley Fire Fund, Operation Tango Mike, Fairground Foundation, Marla Ruzicka Memorial Field, Lakeport Volunteer Fire Fighters Assocation and more!” They have collaborated in order to provide the county it’s first haunted corn maze experience called Field of Fears which will be taking place October 29 and 31 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Haunted Lake County is also hosting its annual haunted house with a mythological theme titled Mythical Mayhem. The haunted house will be held at 500 North Main Street in Lakeport from October 20 to 21 and 27 to 28 at 5 to 10 p.m.

Beginning this Saturday are several events including the Harvest Celebration at Wine and the Willows from 2 to 6 p.m. and also the pancake breakfast and car show at the Konocti Vista Casino beginning at 8 a.m. and benefiting Operation Tango Mike a local nonprofit which organizes the packing and delivering of care packages to those deployed overseas in the military. There are also two Oktoberfest celebrations happening on Saturday, one at Adams Springs Golf Course in Cobb and another at the Cobb Community Center presented by the Lion’s Club from 4 to 9 p.m. The Shoreline Village is also hosting a Halloween party and zombie walk this Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.

Although seemingly a season early also scheduled from now until October 22 is the synthetic ice skating rink in Clearlake operational Monday – Thursday 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., Friday 2:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Wednesday October 25 Rock n’ Rolled Ice Cream in Middletown is hosting two pumpkin painting and ice cream parties where participants can enjoy dessert while painting their very own pumpkins and seats are limited for the event.

Saturday October 28 the Vision of Hope Village is hosting Hallowfest 2023 at the Nice Event Center located at 2817 East Hwy 20 and there will be carnival style games, a spooky cafe and craft vendors from 12 to 6 p.m. Also on Saturday at 11 a.m. Epona’s Equine located at 7105 Live Oak Drive in Kelseyville is hosting their annual Pumpkins and Ponies event where families can explore the horse rescue and maybe even catch a glimpse of the fabled headless horseman.

Sunday October 29 the Middletown Lions and Lioness Clubs are hosting their annual Halloween Carnival with games, cornhole, food and more from 2-5 p.m. at the Middletown Central Park.

All around the county there are trunk / trick or treat events scheduled for the weekend before Halloween as well as the holiday itself which lands on a Tuesday this year. In case you have a four legged friend worry not as there is a trick or treat event just for them Friday October 27 at Send Rover on Over located at 2945 Reeves Lane in Lakeport at 5 p.m.

Saturday October 28 Clearlake will hold their event at 5 p.m. and be followed by a movie in the park. On the same day there will be a trunk or treat held at the Richmond Bar and Grill from 2 to 5 p.m. while their 21+ party start at 8 p.m.

On Sunday October 29 there will be a trunk or treat at the Moose Lodge of  Clearlake Oaks from 4 to 7 p.m. As well as the Kelseyville Main Street trick or treat event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Monday October 30 the Clearlake High School will host a safe trick or treat on campus beginning at 5:30 p.m.
