Christmas in Middletown Festival December 9

The Middletown Area Merchants Association warmly invites the community to the 35th annual Christmas in Middletown Event! The festivities will be held on Sat, December 9 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Since 1988 the town Christmas festival has been growing and evolving. Starting as a vendor craft fair, it grew to include our storefront merchants, community service groups, food vendors, fundraising youth groups and more. This year’s schedule of events:

  • 4:30-6  Santa will be at Middletown Mail and More for children and photo opportunities
  • 5:30 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
  • 5:30-7  Children’s activities at the Library in the Community Room
  • 7:30 Posada Pinata Breaking at the Middletown Art Center

This year the event will feature:
★ Food Court in Central Downtown
★ Vendors
★ Passport to Fun Game with prizes for the lucky winners
★ Car Show at the Town Park
★ Posada Singing Procession throughout the Event sponsored by Middletown Art Center
★ Street Decorated with Donated Christmas Trees with decorations made by local school
children that will be given to local families in need
★ Maker’s Faire at Middletown Art Center
★ Businesses will be open into the evening
★ South Lake County Fire District’s Candy Can Run

The Middletown Area Merchants Assoc sponsors this event. We are hoping for community and business support to decorate the town in a festive spirit. This is a great way to keep your dollars local and to explore all this sweet town has to offer.

This annual event is always the 2nd Saturday in December, rain or shine. This year it is December 9 from 4 to 8. We always need volunteers to make this a successful event for all. You can contact us at info@middletownareamerchants.com

Natural Vision Resources & Low Vision Tech Support at the Lake County Library

The Lake County Library is fostering inclusivity by offering a myriad of free resources specially tailored to empower individuals with low vision. Informational meetings about the library’s free low vision resources meet on the fourth Thursday of the month from 1 to 3 pm at the Lakeport branch.

Chloe Karl will be teaching Vision Improvement methods based on the work of William Bates. This month we will look at ways to prevent eyestrain from near vision activities, like reading and computer use. We will also learn how to use the natural world outdoors to relax the eyes.

At Low Vision Resources meetings, Library Technician, Amy Patton, will be explaining the free resources available from the Lake County Library. Resources include large type books, mp3 players, eAudiobooks, books on cd, and more.

Amy can be contacted at Amy.Patton@lakecountyca.gov.
