LAKE COUNTY
Lake County Women’s Civic Club
The ladies of the Lake County Women’s Civic Club (LCWCC) are well on their way to fulfilling their mission of supporting community projects for this year. President Barbara Hollenkamp presented a check for $500.00 to Chris Taliaferro of Lake County Vet Connect. His organization provides supplies and vouchers to vets in need. This year alone they helped 81 Lake County vets during their September Stand Down event where 40 providers came together to provide a variety of services and support to our local vets.
In addition to the above donation, the LCWCC presented a check for $314 to Tania Biasotti of Healthy Start and another check for $314 to Lisa Morrow and Sharon Maher of Lake Family Resource Center. These two agencies focus on giving families of young children a healthy and safe environment and start in life.
In addition to the monetary donations this month the ladies each provided an unwrapped gift to donate to the local Toys 4 Tots program. There will be many happy smiling faces at Christmas this year thanks to the generosity of the LCWCC members.
The ladies are also looking forward to some special events in the months to come. On Jan. 5, 2024 the ladies will welcome John Knoll who will speak about fire safety at their regularly scheduled meeting and luncheon at the Riviera Hills Restaurant. On Feb 8. 2024, new members will be welcomed and treated to a ladies tea where they will learn more about committees and projects that they are welcome to participate in. The biggest fund-raiser of the year will be the Mad Hatter’s luncheon that will take place at the golf course restaurant in Hidden Valley Lake on April 27, 2024. The theme for the year is “Sassy and Flashy” and promises to be a fun and entertaining time.
