Girls Basketball

Terrence Middle School A team traveled to Crescent City to participate in the 49th Crescent City girl’s basketball tournament. They took 1st place in the A1 division and Aliyah Valadez was named MVP for A1 division.

Junior Wrestling tournament

The Gladiators continued their campaign out in Paradise on Sunday December 10. It was a great day of wrestling as the Gladiators faced a lot of new competition. The team racked up 397 team points, taking 2nd in the tournament behind Paradise. Nine wrestlers brought home 1st. 8 came in 2nd. 9 finished in 3rd. Altogether the club finished with 35 pins and 2 technical falls.

Placing 1st in the tournament were Jameson Philpot, Kaitlyn Crow, Colin Crow, Brian Cosigua, Thomas Philpot, Brantley Paminto, Brayden Paminto, and Zamod Jackson.

Taking 2nd were Brantley Paminto, Branson Whittle, Brayden Paminto, Kailaya Philpot, Kai Ward, Logun Whittle, Michael Garner, and Sade Cook.

Finishing 3rd was Jameson Philpot, Maverick Paminto, Anastasia Garcia, Joseph Szupello, Branson Whittle, Elijah Kimmins, Logun Whittle, Hayden Janssen, and Zamod Jackson.

“It was exciting to see the club perform well at the tournament! These kids are training hard for 3-4 days each week and spend their weekends on the wrestling mat. The sacrifice and dedication that they put in practice is showing and it is great to see the results.” Coach Peter.

Jameson, Kaitlyn, Brian, Brantley, and Brayden all took 1st place for the first time this season. ” They all have had some tough battles throughout the season and it’s great to see them all get to the top this weekend! They continued to trust in their coaches and their training. Proud of each of them and their efforts.” Coach Peter.

Thomas Philpot 10U 77lbs has been on a tear as of late, who has won his last 14 matches in a row, winning his past 5 brackets. ” He continues to set the pace in practice, always pushing himself and eager to get better each day.”

Colin Crow is also turning heads in the 6U Division. Colin has won both brackets in back to back weeks. “He may be small but he is a workhorse. He has a motor on him that keeps pushing the pace in his matches and has a lot of success.” Coach Peter

Zamod Jackson wrapped up the day with a1st place finish at 14U 130 lbs. “Zamod is learning that the days he puts in practice translates to the success he can have on the mat. Consistently putting in the hard work and dedication will pay off for him.” Coach Peter.

The Gladiators have a busy week ahead as they will compete in the Ukiah Takedown Tournament on Wednesday, December 13th. The middle school girls will be going to Roseville on Saturday, December 16th. Gladiators will also have some members wrestling in Willits on Sunday, December 17th, while the rest will be going to Vacaville.
