Arcata man suspected of multiple burglaries in Mendocino and Lake counties pleads not guilty
An Arcata man facing charges of felony burglary and vandalism recently appeared at the Lake County Superior Court for an appearance of counsel, plea entry and bail review hearing.
The defendant, Tyrone Brennen, 38, was present and not in custody, entering a not guilty plea to all counts and denying the special allegations.
A preliminary hearing has been set for April.
The defendant is facing two counts of burglary and two counts of vandalism.
Earlier last month a Lake County deputy acquired a felony arrest warrant in connection to a burglary in Lake County.
The charges stem from an incident last month when Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies located a vehicle connected to a burglary in Lake County. The defendant’s vehicle was spotted during the early morning hours at the parking lot of Bruno’s Shop Smart grocery store.
Brennen was arrested and transported to the Hill Road Correctional Facility.
A search warrant of the defendant’s vehicle was later granted and conducted. Upon search of the vehicle deputies found possible burglary tools and clothing similar to what the defendant was wearing during the commission of some of the burglaries.
According to Sheriff’s officials, the defendant stole approximately $60,000 from November through January from multiple businesses, causing a multitude of damages to the buildings during the process.
According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, the defendant is a suspect to two burglaries in Mendocino County – one at a Chevron station in Gualala and the other at Hopland Farms Gas and Mart.
The defendant has reportedly been responsible for numerous burglaries within the state over the past several years.
The defendant has since bailed out.

Jurors sought to select designs for Water Basket Project
The Middletown Rancheria, Callayomi Water District, and the Middletown Art Center are pleased to invite Middletown area residents and participants of MATH (Middletown Area Town Hall) to join the jury for the Water Basket project design selection.
We are seeking two representatives from MATH attendees and two representatives from the Middletown area public. In the event that there are more qualified candidates than available slots, a blind selection will take place. Additionally, up to two additional community seats may be added if the number of interested participants exceeds 20.
The jury will be tasked with selecting two to four designs for each tank to move to the public input stage. Approximately 20 designs have been submitted.
To be considered for the jury process, please submit a brief statement explaining why you believe you would be a good fit for this task. Include your name, address, phone number, and email, and either email it to info@middletownartcenter.org or drop off your statement and contact information in a sealed envelope at the Middletown Art Center, located at 21456 Highway 175.
The jurying process will take place in mid-March, on a date and time convenient for all seated jurors at the Middletown Art Center. The exact date and time are to be determined but will likely be in the late afternoon or evening.
Selected designs for each tank will be available for public viewing and input in April both prior to and after the MATH meeting, and for two weeks at the Callayomi Water District Office, the Tribal Office, and the Middletown Art Center. Exact dates will be announced.
