43rd annual Spring Dance Festival

This year’s theme is “Dance the Night Away” and will feature local dance studios, including Antoinette Goetz’s School of Dance, Jeanette Marchais’s Studio Ballet, Claire Zimmerman’s BiZi Dance Co., Michelle John Smith’s Clear Lake Clikkers, Brianna Rojas, Elaine Johns, Audrey Showen, Jaimie Bracisco, and other talented choreographers and soloists.

Lake County Arts Council will host performers from around the county to share their love of dance with the community this spring. The 43rd Annual Spring Dance Festival hits the stage at the MAC Theatre at Clear Lake High School on April 6th at 1 P.M. and 6 P.M.  Doors will open 30 minutes prior to showtime.

Admission is $15, children 5 and under are free, and tickets are available at the door and online at lakearts.org. The Spring Dance Festival is a time honored tradition, showcasing a variety of styles- from classical ballet to funky hip-hop, and everything in between.

LOWER LAKE

Guided Nature Walk to be held at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park

The next monthly Guided Nature Walk at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park will be held on Saturday, April 13th beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The March nature walk will be led by Henry Bornstein, a volunteer State Parks Docent and Certified California Naturalist. The route taken on the walk will depend on the condition of the trails. The hike should last between 1½ and 2 hours.

Bring binoculars and meet in the parking lot at 8:15am for time to experience the early morning wildlife that can be found in the Ranch House and Barn complex yard – the walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.  Sturdy shoes, a hat and water are also suggested.

There is no charge for the Guided Nature Walk and parking is free for those attending.

Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Hwy 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake.  For more information about the guided walk, email info@andersonmarsh.org or call (707) 995-2658.

LAKEPORT

Lakeport SDA Church to host President of CPL ministries

The Lakeport Community SDA Church will be hosting Pastor Eliseo Lozano, President of CPL International Ministries. He will be speaking on ministering to the people in communist countries, including North Korea. He will speak at 11:10 a.m. at the worship service and again at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024. The church is located at the Hill Road exit of Hwy, 29. There will be a vegetarian potluck between services. Please plan to attend and learn about the experience of this ministry.
