LAKEPORT—The Lake County Board of Supervisors held their weekly meeting addressing their agreement with Placeworks. They also proclaimed the month of June as Pride Month and commended Calpine Corporation on 40 years of operations.
The board recognized Joey Luiz and Denise Rushing as “local elected leaders who not only represented their constituents, but also represented the LGBTQIA+ community within Lake County.” The proclamation continues in recognizing all of the many staff members who are also a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Luiz took this a step further in directly addressing other community members that have fought for the acceptance they are receiving today stating “Thank you all for this today and thank you for celebrating Pride with us.”
According to a county memo the Placework’s agreement was modified as PlaceWorks had “asked for a revision of language under Item 5 of the agreement, which has been approved by County counsel and included in the attached contract.” This item was approved as part of the consent agenda.
