The Acorn Fire at Manzanita Circle near Acorn Drive in Upper Lake was 20 percent contained as of press time Friday with forward progress stopped per CAL Fire’s incident report. Sixty structures were threatened by the blaze. The evacuation zones for Upper Lake were lifted on Thursday (UPP-E029 and UPP-E043) Participating agencies in the response included (but not limited to): Lakeport Fire, South Lake County Fire District, Gold Ridge Fire District, Northshore Fire District, Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Per Watch Duty, air attack had released four air tankers late Thursday afternoon, but two tankers and a copter were requested back for a spot fire outside the line near the head of the fire.
