CalFresh Replacement for food loss due to power outages

The Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) is able to assist households who experienced food loss due to power outages lasting four hours or more with CalFresh Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) replacement benefits and applications.

CalFresh replacement benefits are available to households already in receipt of CalFresh who lost food due to power outages.  CalFresh households that lost food due to power outages related to the fire, which began Sept. 8 2024 have 30 days, instead of 10 days, to request replacement benefits thanks to a Timely Reporting Waiver.  Households have until Oct. 7, 2024 to submit their CalFresh Replacement Requests.

Expedited CalFresh applications are available to qualified low-income households who do not already have benefits.  At this time, Disaster CalFresh benefits are not available, as a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance is required to operate, which we do not anticipate.

To request replacement CalFresh or to apply, contact Lake County Social Services:

Call 1 (800) 628-5288 toll free, visit: www.benefitscal.com or Come In: 15975 Anderson Ranch Parkway, Lower Lake, CA 95457, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Farm-to-Pizza Night at Boatique Wines September 27

On September 27 from 4:30pm – 8:30 p.m. Imagine an evening where the best of the local Lake County harvest meets the heart of artisan winemaking! Guests will bring their own farm-fresh toppings, whether it’s heirloom tomatoes, local mushrooms, fresh herbs, or artisanal meats, and join us for a hands-on pizza-making experience. We encourage you to highlight local farmers/ingredients and Lake County purveyors, but it is not necessary.

We’ll provide the dough, house-made sauce, and a perfectly matched cheese blend. Guests can create their own masterpiece with ingredients they’ve brought or harvested. Or who knows, maybe you’ll find some fun stuff in our garden or swap with some friends you meet here.

Our winemaker, Patrick Sullivan, will not only be pouring wines but also leading the pizza oven, showing you how to shape your dough and cook your pizza to perfection.

While your pizzas bake, enjoy a curated selection of our wines available for purchase throughout the evening. We have a wide variety of wines to highlight the flavors of your creations. From crisp whites to bold reds, our wines will complement everything from savory to sweet pizza combinations. Patrick and our Team will be on hand to share tasting notes, food pairings, and stories behind the vintages, making this a truly interactive and enriching experience.

Highlights of the Night:

  • DIY pizza stations with fresh dough, sauce, and cheese provided
  • Bring-your-own local farm-to-table toppings
  • Family Friendly – bring the kids and let Patrick teach them how to make pizza
  • Wine available by the glass or bottle
  • Bocce court and cornhole available to all
  • A relaxed atmosphere with the beautiful Red Hills sunset view
  • Special pricing on cases

It’s the perfect way to celebrate local flavors, creativity, and great wine all in one!

**Although reservations are not required, it will help us be better prepared for your visit. If you plan to attend, please email JJ at jj@boatiquewines.com with your name and number of people in your party. It will go a long way to ensure we have enough supplies on-hand for a great fall evening. Boatique Winery is located at 8255 Red Hills Rd, Kelseyville
