LAKEPORT>>> A Clearlake man who was recently arrested for possessing fentanyl, while driving a stolen vehicle was not present for his arraignment hearing.

The Court found no good cause for the defendant’s (Anthony Jamal Hollomon) non-appearance.

The Court ordered the issuance of a bench warrant for failing to appear with bail set in the amount of $20,000.

The defendant’s bail was forfeited.

During the arraignment hearing the matter was recalled for later that morning as the defendant arrived late.

The Court vacated the previous order to issue a bench warrant.

It was ordered that the bail forfeiture be set aside and the bond was reinstated.

The Court appointed the Lake County Public Defender as counsel for the defendant.

During the recent hearing the defendant entered a not guilty plea to all charges and the preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the end of this month.

The defendant has been charged with possession of sale of a controlled substance, transportation/sale of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property.

The charges stem from an incident in August when a Clearlake Police Sergeant spotted a vehicle speeding on Hwy 53. According to Clearlake Police, the Sergeant’s radar gun was deployed; determining the vehicle was traveling 81 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Upon conducting a traffic stop of the vehicle, the sergeant discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Winters, California.

A search of the vehicle ensued as approximately 65 grams of suspected fentanyl was located with packaging material for sales.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 37-year-old Clearlake resident, Anthony Hollomon.

He was arrested and booked into the Lake County Jail.

The defendant has since bailed out.
