
CLARLAKE OAKS >> In an alert to the community, Shoreline and neighboring communities, residents are urged to attend a presentation by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-4) as he visits the North Shore Business meeting.
The regular Clearlake Oaks – Glenhaven Business Association meeting is on Thursday, October 24. It will feature Congressman Mike Thompson of the 4th Congressional District, noted Olga Martin Steele, co-founder of the Hands Up, Lake County Business competition. The Congressman will provide updates on legislation and other topics Martin Steele explained.

Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month at the Moose Lodge, 15900 SR 20 in Clearlake Oaks. The Association is a non-profit organization serving the combined communities of Clearlake Oaks and Glen Haven on the County’s North Shore. Membership is open to businesses throughout Lake County as well as individuals.
A few of the topics that are expected to be part of the discussion are; fire insurance, the state of the economy, legislation updates and veterans’ issues.
“He is always given latitude to choose topics and takes questions from the attendees,” said Martin Steele. “It’s a big deal to have the Congressman in our little town.”
She reminds residents that the Association’s signature fund raiser is the annual Catfish Derby held in May. Funds raised at the Derby support local elementary and high schools, the senior center and nonprofits benefiting youth and the elderly.
