Travis Boyles went 7-2 at the Zinkin Classic improving his record to 10-2 on the he season. The Zinkin classic had 508 wrestlers including some of the top kids in the state compete over two days. Boyles had four falls, one tech, and lost a match to the No. 8 state ranked C. Melgoza of Kingsburg by point on day one.

Boyles had a solid showing in day two going 2-1, where he only wrestled top 10 kids in the state. To start the day Travis beat No. 2 seeded Z. Hoover of Laguna Creek 15-3 and notched a win over someone he has never beat.

Match 2 Travis got the rematch he wanted back from day one and pinned the No. 3 seed C. Melgoza of Kingsbury in the first round. Travis then lost a barn burner, triple overtime match to No. 4 seed C. Martin of Camarillo in the consolation semifinals. Travis was pulled out of his 5th/6th place match due to injury, to try and keep him from irritating and flare up. Boyles started the tournament ranked No. 39 in the state and should fall in the top 10 after this performance. Boyles will be competing at the Pat Lovell Holiday classic in Aptos this coming weekend.
