LAKEPORT>> Sometimes, Mother Nature just caters to her own circadian rhythm and humanity must hold its breath.
But when the stork arrives at last, it is always a bundle of joy. Such was the occasion for new mom, Isabel Seja. She and her husband, Andrew Garcia were overjoyed when their first child arrived in the world at 8:58 on Wednesday, January 1, the first to be born in Lake County in 2025. However, the physicians attending Isabel’s prenatal care did happen to forecast a December 22 arrival, yet no matter, it is rarely about the journey itself, but the final destination.
Still, for the young gentleman’s debut on planet earth, named Alexander, his timing probably could not have been more perfect. Both Isabel and Andrew responded, “It is a blessing!” they agreed. Young Alexander tipped the scales at a trim fighting weight of 8.2 pounds. And for crossing the finish line before any other toddler in 2025, the Garcia-Seja family were presented with Sutter Health’s traditional gift basket, they actually had to wheel in with a mobile crib, perhaps a sign, this baby is going places. The gift caravan was organized by Sutter personnel, Clare Tanti and Meagan Gard. Generous donations for Alexander were provided by: Homegrown Baby Boutique, Margaret Brennan, Ann Larrea, Lorena Watson, Chrystal Zepeda, Dr. Razak, Stefani Re Photography and Red’s at the Skyroom.
My parents were happy about the birth,” said Isabel. “They actually said, ‘He’s going to be a New Years baby.'” Isabel works as a table waitress at Andy’s Tavern, at the Konocti Harbor Resort in Kelseyville for the prior three years. As she approached her delivery date, she suspended her employment on November 1. But she is planning to return to work at Andy’s by the beginning of April. Her husband Andrew, works as a security guard for Konocti Casinos.
Meanwhile, the Sutter Hospital family as welcomed almost as good news as Alexander’s birth. Christina Lasich, MD, Chief Medical Examiner, who graciously arranged for the press to have a generous audience with the Garcia-Seja family, disclosed that just within the last few months, U.S. News & World Report, according to an opinion poll, ranked Sutter, one of the best Lakeside care centers for maternal care.
“We are very proud of our team,” Dr. Lasich said. “And we are very honored we are a recognized as a women’s health department, with other health plans, as providing the best outcomes (for health care). And we are very committed to serving families with all their women’s health care needs.
Dr. Lasich also graciously posed at Sutters’ billboard posted on the grounds just to the west of Sutters main entrance, which reads: “Exceptional care never stops … Nationally recognized for maternal care, as reported in U.S. News & World Report”
