
KELSEYVILLE>>> It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kelseyville’s boys basketball varsity team had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Calistoga Wildcats 83-35. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-17.
Kelseyville has been performing well recently as they’ve won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Calistoga, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.
Coming up, Kelseyville is taking a road trip to take on College Prep at 7 p.m. on Friday. ‘
Kelseyville Girls takes a tough playoff loss
Kelseyville and Fortuna squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Kelseyville had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 47-29 to the Fortuna Huskies. The Knights have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Kelseyville’s loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Fortuna, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-12.
Fortuna, will face off next against Middletown at 7 p.m. on Friday. Middletown will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Fortuna surely won’t give up without a fight.
Middletown Boys Basketball finds playoff glory against Arroyo
MIDDLETOWN>> It’s playoff time, and Middletown had no trouble coming through when it counted. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 victory over the Arroyo Dons. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won seven contests in a row.
Middletown pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points over those games. As for Arroyo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.
Coming up, Middletown will host Mission San Jose at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Middletown Girls Basketball picks up 12th straight win at home
It’s playoff time, and Middletown had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Mt. Eden Monarchs by a score of 52-43 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests in a row.
Middletown pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points over those games. As for Mt. Eden, they have been struggling recently as they’ve lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Looking ahead, Middletown will be playing in front of their home fans against Fortuna at 7 p.m. on Friday.
