MIDDLETOWN>>> Despite a great regular season where the Mustangs finished 13-2, 10-2 at home and first in league play, Middletown couldn’t record another playoff win Wednesday for a ninth consecutive win and lost in their semifinal matchup 74-48 to the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins.

Middletown’s loss means they finish out with an overall record of 23-7. As for their playoff opponents, St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they’ve won seven of their last eight games to extend a streak of their own on the way to a 14-13 record this season.

Neither team had allowed a lot of scoring during the season. Middletown was also averaging 61.2 points per game while St. Patrick-St. Vincent’s per point game average was 59.1. The Bruins move on the 2025 North Coast Section Boys Basketball Championship game against Piedmont on Saturday.
