Spring Bill Relief: Up to $125 California Climate Credit automatically applied to PG&E customers’ energy bills

Millions of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) customers will automatically receive the California Climate Credit on their April energy bill.

Residential households with an active electric account will receive an electric credit of $58.23. Residential households with an active gas account will receive a credit of $67.03. Customers receiving both gas and electric service from PG&E will receive a total April credit of $125.26.

Residential and eligible small business customers receive identical electric credits in April and October. Residential natural gas customers receive a credit in April.

The California Climate Credit is funded by the state’s Cap-and-Trade Program. It is distributed by PG&E to customers as directed by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The Cap-and-Trade Program requires companies to pay for [certain] emissions. Revenue from the program is also used by the state to improve public health and the environment and provide meaningful benefits to the most disadvantaged communities. The bill credit is designed to help customers during the transition to a more sustainable future.

“We know many of our customers are feeling the pressure of rising energy bills. We support bill relief for families and fostering a more climate-resilient future,” said Vincent Davis, Senior Vice President, Customer Experience.

Since 2014, the CPUC calculates PG&E residential customers have received an average of nearly $1,000 in California Climate Credits, totaling more than $12.9 billion in Cap-and-Trade Program benefits statewide.

MIDDLETOWN

Fire Safe Council to update Middletown Luncheon Club

Rain, rain, rain, and sun bring us many shades of vibrant green as new growth pops up in our yards, in our beautiful valleys, and on our mountains. We celebrate the beauty now, but, as we all know and dread, all that growth can become a liability in the summer and fall. Come hear a representative from the Fire Safe Council who will bring us up-to-date on fire safety in Lake County and how we can protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our homes

Lunch will be served by the Fire Safe Council on Wednesday, March 19, at noon, at the Middletown Senior Center, 21256 Washington Street. The program will end by 1 p.m. For only $5 per person, enjoy Shepherd’s Pie, House Salad, Fruit, and Dessert. Everyone is welcome!

Reservations are required for lunch. Call the Senior Center at 987-3113 to make your reservation. You may come and listen to the speaker for free without lunch; no reservation is needed in that case.

Our programs occur 11 months of the year (no meetings in December) and always take place on the third Wednesday of the month. You might want to add a repeating date to your calendar along with the Senior Center phone number, 987-3113 — just in case you don’t see the monthly email reminder.
