On social media there are photos of Oprah showing off her weight loss, and myriad photos of other stars touting how they dropped fat like it was a bulky sweater, due to some secret coffee hack.
As someone who always wants to lose weight, I’ve listened to several podcasts about other people’s weight loss journeys but stopped listening at some point. It all started sounding like, “Blah, blah, blah.” I never found out what the recipe was for their transformative weight loss coffee hack.
Has anyone else been through this ridiculousness?
Frustrated, I gave up. Until months later a thought flew into my incredibly dense head: Google it!
I found all sorts of “coffee hacks.” Of course there was the print versions of “Blah, blah, blah,” which I skipped over until I found an actual recipe: 1 teaspoon coffee, 2 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 cup water, 1inch of cinnamon stick, 1 teaspoon honey.
The coffee stopped me, as I don’t drink coffee. Not sure what I’d find since I was searching for a coffee hack. I just wanted to find the jewel of how to lose weight and still be able to eat whatever I wanted.
Pure fiction, right?
I kept searching until I found the “Mounjaro Recipe: The Hack Everyone is Talking About.” It seemed like something I could handle.
I’ve been drinking the hack-juice daily for a week. I’m not sure if my resulting energy is because I’ve been getting a good night’s sleep or because of the hack-juice, which is made up of apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, ginger, honey and water.
The jury is still out. The goal is to drink it daily for a month.
In the past I’ve gone to Weight Watchers (interrupted by Covid), stopped eating red meat (36 years ago), took up rowing, which made me eat more to make up for the extreme exercise. I’ve always been doing some sort of exercise until my back injury (ski accident Mar. 28, 1978) caught up with me again these last two years. Recently, the most exercise I’ve been getting is using the TV remote and feeding the cats!
Walking my dog Toby kept me in shape and then Toby died, and I was too depressed to walk our paths alone. I’d see a flower and want to show it to him. The cats definitely won’t walk with me.
I did lose 50 pounds awhile ago; my blood pressure pills were tossed, so of course I was happy. It took about two years to lose it but after another medical setback, I wasn’t able to cook my meals and had to revert to frozen dinners and finally everything fell apart and the weight crept back on.
Typical story, right?
Google says; “The ongoing quest to lose weight often involves a combination of lifestyle changes, including diet and exercise, and sometimes medical interventions with the goal of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.”
Easy for it/them to say.
For me, sugar has to be eliminated (again), veggies have to become a major part of my food plan, and there has to be some protein. And, as my doctor said, “Nothing white.”
Due to my back issue acting up, I’ve had help around the house and help with meals. Unfortunately, some of the meals my help cooked weren’t healthy. Things got out of control. I even ate pasta for the first time in three years. Now I crave it all the time.
What’s a girl to do?…keep drinking the Mounjaro Recipe to get me back on track. Drink even more water, start a walking regimen and go to the farmers market for fresh produce. That’s a lot. Wish me good luck!
