On April 3, the U.S. Department of Education issued a four-page memorandum to public school superintendents across the nation, reaffirming that federal funding for school districts is contingent upon compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VI prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. Expressed in the form of a positive mindset this is about supporting all students.
