Title Companies can submit online real estate transactions
To improve their services to County residents submitting documents through Title Companies (e.g. Real Estate Transactions), the County of Lake’s Recorder’s Office is implementing an Electronic Recording Document System (ERDS, also known as eRecording).
This service is expected to, “Go Live” July 1, culminating a long-time effort. Title Companies will be able to submit documents via the County of Lake’s ERDS platform from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays listed on the County of Lake’s website. Documents received after the deadline cannot be processed until the next business day.
As of Aug. 1, 2025, due to eRecording capabilities, Title Companies will not be able to submit documents in-person at the County of Lake Recorder’s office.
This is a standard practice used by many Counties throughout California, and is expected to make Recording services more
effective.
Any questions can be addressed to the Recorder’s Office, at 707-263-2302.

Explore the Option of Public Power Generation
You are invited to learn more about how Lake County could offer an alternative to PG&E’s electric power sources, cut emissions and potentially trim rates while retaining PG&E for grid maintenance.
Three public meetings will be held in July. Attendees will learn how Mendocino and Sonoma Counties have successfully replaced PG&E’s power sources with their own, and how Lake County is considering a similar action.
Meeting Schedule
July 8 at 10:30 AM Lake County Board of Supervisors
255 N Forbes Street, Lakeport CA 95453 July 15th at 6 PM Lakeport City Council
July15, City of Lakeport, City Council Chambers
225 Park Street, Lakeport CA 95453
July 17th at 6 PM Clearlake City Council
14050 Olympic Drive, Clearlake, CA 95422
Sonoma Clean Power (SCP) is a community-owned organization fighting for lower rates and more renewable energy. Starting in 2014, SCP began replacing PG&E’s power sources for customers across Mendocino and Sonoma counties. SCP is not a full municipal utility because it still relies on PG&E to maintain all the poles and wires in the power grid.
The County of Lake and Cities of Clearlake and Lakeport are considering asking SCP to expand its services to include our region. SCP has trimmed power bills for its customers by over $100 million over the past decade, and built large solar, wind and battery systems.
SCP is also leading an effort to build 600MW of new geothermal power to secure a7ordable rates and improve our region’s
energy independence.
Today, SCP generates the power for 87% of all electric customers across Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Earlier this year, the Lake County Board of Supervisors and the Cities of Lakeport and Clearlake sent requests to SCP to consider extending service into Lake County. The July meetings will explore that option in detail.
