LAKE COUNTY>> The Fourth of July is coming up tomorrow and Lake County is ready to celebrate throughout the weekend. Whether it is on Friday or Saturday, there will be fireworks all over Clear Lake with both cities offering a myriad of events for revelers to enjoy.
With Lakeport alone having plenty of firework vendors, safety remains the top priority. All sellers are authorized and only sell specifically approved fireworks. Aside from avoiding personal injuries and property damage, the intent remains for residents to avoid wildfires. Despite the greater rainfall in the past few years, wildfires remain a grave concern in California, including Lake County.
Clearlake and the Lakeshore Lions Club start the celebration today. Austin Park will host a full-sized carnival with Ferris Wheel that runs from noon to 10 p.m through Sunday. Aside from the city’s annual fireworks, there’s the 67th Annual Redbud Parade on Saturday. The parade’s theme is “Cruising the 50s” and assembles at 10 a.m. at Redbud Park. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and then finishes at Austin Park.
For July 4, Lakeport has much to offer. The annual Lakeport Street Fair will be held in downtown Lakeport, near Library Park. The fair is held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and packed with various vendors. There is also a DJ operating out of the gazebo and playing music for all attendees. The fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. and are typically a sight to behold, especially at Library Park.
A noticeable addition to Lakeport’s festivities is the return of the Boat Parade. Thanks to Lakeport Tire and Auto Service, this beloved tradition will sail across the lakefront from Xabatin Community Park to Library Park. Various participating boats will have the chance to be decorated and take part after registering online. The parade itself starts at 6 p.m. and should not be missed.

Beyond Lakeport, Kelseyville has its own annual event, Kickin’ in the Country. Held on Main Street, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 4, people can dance the night away with the Soul Circus Band.
Heading into Saturday, July 5, the fun isn’t done. The Lakeport Speedway at the Lake County Fairgrounds will have the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. with the racing starting at 7 p.m. The fairgrounds will then have their annual fireworks display later that evening.
Additionally, the Konocti Vista Casino will be holding their annual Fireworks display. The party starts at 6 p.m. with the Fireworks kicking off at 9:30 p.m.
No matter where in Lake County the Independence Day weekend is spent, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. From Clear Lake to Kelseyville to Lakeport and beyond, residents will have the chance to celebrate with fireworks up in the night sky any night during the holiday weekend.
