Since my dear boy Sox died, there are two young male cats (cute ones) trying to take over Sox’s territory.

There’s a pretty black and white one with a black nose, that I’ve dubbed Button. The other one is a beige-colored tabby, that I haven’t dubbed

I’ve chatted with Jameson Humane, located in Napa, who have agreed to neuter one of the boys. To do that I need a trap to catch the more feral one, Button. He stops at nothing to grab one of my cats’ breakfasts by sneaking into the house and scarfing down whatever food bowl has something left in it. I’m sure I could get him if I just had a trap.

Anyone have one? Or know where I could rent one? Please help me out here, readers. I’ve called Animal Control, my vet. No traps. If I capture Button I can meet my Jameson Humane contact and give Button a chance at finding a loving home.

Then I’ll figure out how to get little No-Name beige tabby neutered.

It’s funny how the dynamics of my household have changed since Sox died. Honey, my youngest cat was his buddy. She’d sleep with him and clean his ears and then she sleep on my knees close Sox who slept on my stomach. Now Honey does zoomies most of the night only to curl up at the end of the bed when she’s tuckered out.

Noodle, who arrived after Sox, sleeps in the second bedroom, or on top of the printer or on the cat shelf attached to the front window. If she’s really tired, she’ll flop down anywhere, roll on her back with her tummy exposed and take a snooze.

Claire, Noodle’s daughter, used to sleep under my armpit. Now she might start there but then scurries off when Honey jumps on the bed.

Nothing is the same.

Except, Noodle is still a pig and loves to roll in the dirt getting her white fur looking like a brown bear. Honey is still a clown and also rolls in the dirt. Claire refuses to get dirty and is still shy except when the two boy cats come around. I know they’re close by when I hear Claire growl. She’s not putting up with their monkey business!

It’s not fair to my three remaining cats to have yet another adjustment with the two boys trying to take over. Thank goodness my girls are spayed and not having any of THAT monkey business happening.

I went so far as the to order squirt tubes so I could squirt water and chase the boys away but then I got Honey wet and that scared her so badly that she wouldn’t come out of the house. It’s time for them to go!

If you know of a trap I could use asap, please contact me at the email below and let me know. I’ll post pictures.

What’s a girl to do?…figure out an alternative way to catch Button if I can’t get a trap, give him a good life and get him the heck out of my backyard!
