LAKE COUNTY>>> As the calendar transitions into August, athletes, coaches and sports enthusiasts in Lake County are gearing up for another season of local high school sports including football. Meanwhile in Cobb, the 32nd annual John Berry Lake County Junior Golf Championship and the first John Berry Jr. Gold Tournament took place July 23 at Adams Springs Golf Club on Cobb Mountain.
Some of the winners included Pat Seau who took 1st place in the 16-17 Division, Silas Tyner who took 1st place in the 10-11 Division. This year’s Golf Tournament winner is Andy Zimmerle. Other division winners included Tessa Jaurequi, Lyle Valador, and John Bostow.
The first of three Monday nights in this year’s Passing League in anticipation and preparation of the new high school varsity football season took place on July 14 at Lower Lake High School Gordon Sadler Field where members of the Clear Lake, and varsity football teams were captured in action by photographer Bob Minenna,.
