Soroptimists announce “A Taste for Murder & Wine”

The Clear Lake Soroptimists ask supporters to set aside Friday, September 26 for a luxurious evening of vintage varietals by R Vineyards, elevated cuisine by Greenview Chef Jon Fallon and a mysterious murder sure to keep you guessing. “All proceeds from the event will benefit Lake County women and girls working hard to change their lives through education,” said incoming President Cheri Carr.

Produced by Soroptimist member Ami Landrum, the setting for the murder is wine country, 1997, “where the wine flows freely and the secrets run deep,” she said. “The characters are engaging local actors who will set the stage for some who done it fun.”

“A Taste for Murder and Wine is an opportunity to step into character as your favorite sleuth or dress in vineyard glam – either way, you’re in for a killer time,” Landrum said.

Soroptimist International of Clear Lake sponsors programs that benefit local women and girls.

The Club mission is to improve the lives of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities designed to achieve economic resilience for themselves and their families. “Three young Lake County women who are heads of household received cash awards earlier this year to assist with their expenses while enrolled in a vocational or college curriculum. The funds we raise at this event will go a long way to help us continue our work,” said President Carr.

The fund raiser will be held at The Greenview Bar and Grill Event Center in Hidden Valley Lake, 19210 Hartmann Road.  Show time is 6 p.m.; doors open at 5 pm. Tables of 8 are available for $500; individual seats are $75. For ticket purchases and reservations contact Wendy Freese at 1-510-303-1414. Cash and credit cards accepted. Please RSVP by September 12.
